如果認識Snow Patrol不夠深，恐怕也要誤認他們不過又是一組跟風樂團，畢竟Snow Patrol這個名字在台灣曾經跟在他們的家鄉英國一樣冷門，以98年的『Songs For Polarbears』及2001年的『When It’s All Over We Still have To Clear Up』兩張專輯分別是全英第163及164名的成績來看，這樣的獨立樂團全球只怕有成千上萬，除了特定樂迷之外，很難會有誰對他們的未來寄予期待。
【Eyes Open】由成功打造『Final Straw』的製作搭檔Garret ’Jacknife’ Lee繼續坐鎮，非但藉Glasgow獨立搖滾圈名人朋友組成的合唱隊幕後合聲助陣，延展了歌曲詮釋幅度，愈發完熟的流行趨向令Snow Patrol擺脫當年的獨立氣味，徹底脫胎換骨；曾受U2邀約長期共同巡迴的經驗，更明顯反應在他們愈發大氣磅礡卻能兼容個人情感的搖滾曲式裡，諸如首波主打的"You’re All I Have"，以及"It’s Beginning To Get To Me"，都輕鬆展露他們躍居一線樂團的架勢；堪稱"Run"續篇的"Chasing Cars"再次見證Gary Lightbody敏感的內心；以鋼琴搖滾展開的"Make This Go On Forever"更彷彿是寫給Mark McClelland的；邀得Rufus Wainwright同樣能歌擅寫的胞妹Martha Wainwright獻聲合唱的"Set The Fire To The Third Bar"，一如主唱自己形容之「Amazing」，叫人驚豔；頗有kidult(註: kidult=kid+adult，泛指具有彼得潘個性之成年人)之IDM況味及鋪陳的"You Could Be Happy"，
